Here we will try to answer as many questions as possible. If we have not answered your question email us at support@flixon.com.
How do I register?
1. On the home page (www.flixon.com) You'll see the "New User" form as figured below:

2. Enter in your full name, date of birth and you'll email address. Your email address must be a valid working account as you will be sent an email to confirm your account setup. Press "Continue" when done. Alternatively you can skip this step and jump straight to the full registration page.
3. You'll now see the full "Register" form as figured below:

i) You have the option to select your "Time Zone". This is helpful when it comes to accurately recording the time you send messages to friends.
ii) Choose a username e.g. JohnSmith this allows users on the site to distinguish yourself uniquely.
iii) Choose your password and then confirm your password.
iv) The Security Question is used if you forget your password. Make sure it is something you can remember the answer to.
v) Enter the code shown in the picture, this is used to identify you are an actual user.
vi) Finally read our terms and conditions and tick the box to agree. Then click the “Register” button.
10. You will be sent an email to the email address you gave us, check your inbox. In the email we will give you a link to activate your account. (Please note, if you do not receive an email check your junk email folder). Click the link at it will take you back to Flixon.com and you can login with your Username and Password.
How do I setup / edit my profile?
1. After logging in, you will be directed to the "My Account" page (pictured below). If you ever need to navigate to this page again, simply highlight "Home" on the menu bar and select "My Account" from the drop down.

2. To start setting up your profile page, simply click on "Edit Profile" link located at the very top on the "My Account" page. ("Edit Profile" can also be found in the drop down menu when highlighting "Home") You will now see the page pictured below.

You can change your "Full Name", select your gender and enter in your date of birth. Press the "Update Personal Details" button to save your changes.

You can add your contact information to your profile page. We do not pass your information on to third parties. If you do not wish to display this information leave the fields blank. Press the "Update Contact Details" button to save your changes.

You can add details of your interests. Press the "Update Interests" button to save your changes.

Filling in this form helps your friends from school find you. Press the "Update Education Details" button to save your changes.

Filling in this form helps people identify what you are looking for from other users. Press the "Update Relationship Details" button to save your changes.

Filling in this form adds your business to the Directory. Fill in your company name and in the description briefly write what services you offer. You can also use the tags to identify your expertise.
How do I work out my Latitude and Longitude position?
1. To fill in the Latitude and Longitude you will need to first find out your position. To do this go to http://www.multimap.com/ and search for your postcode. It will display your location on the map and underneath the map it displays your Lat and Lon. You will need to use the numbers in the brackets. If you have any trouble with this, please contact us at support@flixon.com giving your postcode and we will reply with the numbers you have to use.
2. Once you"ve entered in your position, you will appear in the Directory.

Profile Photo

This is how you update your profile picture. Choose either a picture of yourself or your logo. Simply browse your local hard drive for your chosen picture then press the “Update Photo” button to upload your photo.
Server Time Out Issues
Make sure the photo you are uploading is no larger than 10mb. The smaller the image the quicker it will upload. For more help go to How can I speed up the upload of my photos?
Profile Preferences

Filling in this form you can select whether you wish to receive notification emails when somebody messages you on Flixon. You can hide or display your email address on your profile page. Select your time zone, so the time is recorded accurately when you send messages. You can also select a preferred URL, for example selecting /John-Smith/ will create the URL www.flixon.com/Users/John-Smith/ which will link directly to your profile home page. Press the "Update Preferences" button to save your changes.

Security

Here you can choose who see's your information. For example if you wanted only friends to see your contact information you can tick the relevant box in the "Contact" row. Press the "Update Security Details" button to save your changes.
Password

Here you can choose to change your password. Simply type in your old password, choose a new password then confirm your new password by retyping it. Then press the "Update Password" button to save your changes.

Security Question

Here you can update your security question and answer. This will be used if you forget your password. You'll simply answer your own question then we'll email you your password.
How do I create or edit a photo album?

1. Simply highlight Photos from the menu and select "New Album" from the drop down.

2. You will now see the "New Photo Album" form. Just add the title of your photo album and enter in a brief description of what is included in your album. The description can be left blank if you wish. The default cost is the cost applied to a photo when uploaded in to this album. The cost is the fee someone must pay to view the full sized photo. You can leave this as 0 if you do not wish to charge users to view your pictures. The default type is the type applied to a photo when uploaded in to this album. Private - A note will be displayed on the photo page saying "This photo has been marked as private which means you only have permission to view this photo". Public - A note will be displayed on the photo page saying "This photo has been marked as public which gives you permission to do as you wish with the photo". Press the "Add Album" button when you are ready to create your album. It is now ready for you to upload your photos to.
How do I upload my photos to an album?

1. Highlight Photos from the menu and select "Edit Albums" from the drop down.

2. You will now see the "Photo Album" form. Here you can choose the album you want to add your photos to. Select it by clicking on the name of the album. In this case Examples. (Please note if you wish to change the albums name and defaults click "Edit". If you wish to remove the album and all of it's photos you can click on the Delete link). After clicking on the photo albums name you will be taken to the form pictured below.

3. Follow the onscreen instructions to start uploading your photos. Please note if you do not see the upload form, check the following.
i) You have ticked the box to confirm that the pictures you are uploading belong to you and they do not contain images of sexual acts or nudity of persons under the age of 18.
ii) You have downloaded and installed Microsoft Silverlight. It is free and is simply a component that needs to be installed for our upload tool to work. Use the link to navigate to Microsofts website.
4. To use the upload tool you will first need to click on "Select Files" This will open a new window where you can navigate your local hard drive to find the photos you wish to upload. Select up to 100 images at a time.

5. Once you have chosen the images you wish to upload click on "Open" button to add them to the upload tool.

6. The upload tool will now list the file names of the images you are about to upload. Either add more photos to the list by going back to "Select Files" or click on "Upload" to start uploading the photos.

7. Please note you can see the progression of each file uploading. As soon as it's done you will see a green tick to notify it has finished uploading. Once you have all green ticks the page will be refreshed and you will be able to see all the photos that have been uploaded.
Upload Errors

1. If you ever get any upload errors, our server has had difficulty with your upload of a particular file. Many factors can be the cause of this. You can try a number of things
i) Try uploading fewer files in your batch.
ii) Try compressing your photos before uploading. See "How can I speed up the upload of my photos?"
iii) Try opening your photo in photo editing software and re-saving it. This can correct any corruptions.

How can I speed up the upload of my photos?
The easiest way to speed up your upload is to compress all your photos first. We recommend PhotoResize found at www.rw-designer.com/picture-resize alternatively download the software from our server at www.flixon.com/MyFiles/Files/PhotoResize/PhotoResize2272.exe. How do I tag my photos?

1. Highlight Photos from the menu and select "Edit Albums" from the drop down.

2. Click on the album name that contains the photos you wish to tag.

3. Click "Edit" by the photo you wish to tag.

4. You will now see the "Photo Details Form" as pictured above. In the box titled "Tags:" you can enter in as many tags for your photo as you like, separate by using commas. Use as many descriptive words as you think of, this will enable more people to find your photo. Click the "Update" button to save your changes.
How do I invite customers / friends to join?

1. Highlight Users from the menu and select "Invite Friends" from the drop down.

2. You will now see the "Invite Friend" form. Simply enter in the email addresses of the people you wish to invite to the site. Separate each email address with a comma. You can even add a personal message to entice your friends to join. We reward you with 10 credits for everyone you invite that joins the site. Press the "Invite Friends" button to send the message.
How do I send messages to my customers / friends?
1. At the very top right you will see the options pictured below

2. Click on "Private Messages"

3. You will see the "Navigation" form on the left of the screen. Click on "Send Private Message"

4. The "Send Private Message" form works similar to an email client. Click on [Select User(s)] to add the users you wish to send the message to. Enter in a subject title. Then enter your message in the box provided. You can even link in a picture, or a YouTube video. When you are happy with your message, click the "Send Message" button to send. If you ever wish to see what you've sent, go back to the Navigation Form and select "Sent Messages".
How do I purchase credits?
1. At the very top right you will see the options pictured below

2. Click on "Credits"

3. You will now see the "Transactions" form. Here you can monitor all transactions. Click on "Purchase More Credits".

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to purchase your credits. Payments are made through paypal.
How do I convert my credits earned back into cash?
At the end of every month we will check how many credits you have earned. If you have earned 50000 credits or more we will convert your credits back into cash in instalments of £50. For example if you have earned 102000 credits we will give you £100 for 100000 of your credits. Your remaining credits will be carried on into the next month.
You will receive your first cash payment by cheque, this is to confirm the address we have for you is valid. Included with the cheque will be a form you can fill out and send back to us at:

On this form you can arrange for alternative method of payments. You can choose 3methods, by cheque, by BACS or by paypal.
For every payment we will charge a small amount of £5 for administrative fees. The £5 will be deducted from your credits.
What is an Article and how can I create one?
Use Articles to have your say about anything. You can even create a poll. Whether you want to post your views on a new camera, or just want to chat about the latest football result. Free to use as you wish. Flixon monitors each article created, for highly viewed and detailed documents we will reward users with credits.
1. To create one is easy, highlight "Articles" from the menu and select "Submit Articles"

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to fill out your article.
What is an Event and how can I create one?
An Event is used if you wish for a number of users to share photos of a particular event. For example if user1 and user2 have pictures of the same event and you wish to create one place where all photos could be viewed. You can create an event. Events are ideal for any special occasion where a number of people have taken photos.
1. To create an event, highlight "Events" from the menu and select "New Event"

2. You will now see the form pictured below

i) Title the event, choose something that would be searchable by the appropriate people. For example "John Smiths Wedding"
ii) Description just needs to be a brief explanation of what the event is about.
iii) You can add a start and end date of the event and the location.
iv) You can add an image which will be displayed next to the title of the event.
v) Then you have some options to how you wish the event to be controlled.
3. Press the "Add Event" button to create your event. Navigate back to your event by going back to the Events menu and select "My Events". Now you can add your photos from your albums to the event. (Please note that you must first create a photo album before you can add your photos to the event).
Widgets are extra boxes you can add to your profile page to display additional things. For example if you wanted to add a video to your profile page you can use the YouTube widget.
1. To add a widget go to your profile page, by selecting "My Profile" from the Home drop down menu.

2. This will take you to your profile page, located at the top right you will see "Add widgets to your profile".

3. Click on the "Add widgets to your profile" link

4. Read the description of each widget, and follow it's instructions to add it to your profile page.
